The group will have its first meeting in the Walldorf Room at the Plymouth District Library on Sunday, November 23, starting at 1:00 p.m. We have the room reserved till the library closes at 4:45 p.m. but we should be done before that.

Please check out the Macbeth page in the Pages section on the right. It contains information about what to bring to the readings and also a list of resources to explore and deepen your enjoyment of the play.

Please contact me at fea_123@yahoo.com if you have any questions or leave a comment.

The first play to be read by the group will be the Scottish Play! I met with Cyndi Burnstein, the Shakespeare Seminar Teacher at the Plymouth-Canton High schools yesterday and we concurred that this would be a good first choice:

  • it is short, thrilling and ferociously paced
  • it’s got the blood and gore appropriate to Halloween horror and it is short
  • most people are familiar with the play

We can make the decision about what play to read next more democratic  so please bear with us for this one!

As promised Macbeth has its own page, please look under the Pages section of the blog.

I am going to follow the system that Dr. Gareth Morgan devised for 7-12 readers to read the plays aloud without having to talk to themselves. More details about his system can be found at:
